Facilitation of Monitoring & Evaluation for the Addressing Root Causes Project (ARC)

Effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is essential to ensure that projects achieve their intended goals and create lasting impact. In May 2022, Future Stars Center played a key role in facilitating an independent M&E mission for the Addressing Root Causes (ARC) project, implemented with the support of Safer-World.

The mission, conducted between 22–25 May 2022, was led by an independent consultant, and aimed to assess the progress, challenges, and overall outcomes of the ARC project. Future Stars Center was responsible for coordinating the participation of community representatives from Kabkabiya, El Seiraf, and Kurma, bringing them together in El Fasher to contribute to the evaluation process.

A total of 18 participants—equally balanced between men and women—took part in the sessions. This diversity ensured that multiple perspectives were included, helping to create a more comprehensive understanding of the project’s impact.

During the evaluation, participants engaged in open discussions, shared feedback, and provided insights into how the project’s activities have influenced their communities. Topics covered included:

  • The relevance of the project’s interventions to local needs.

  • Achievements in addressing root causes of conflict and instability.

  • Areas for improvement to enhance long-term sustainability.

The M&E process also served as a platform for building trust and strengthening the relationship between the implementing partners and the beneficiary communities. By creating an open space for dialogue, the mission allowed stakeholders to collaborate on identifying solutions and shaping the next phase of the project.

At Future Stars Center, we believe that accountability and learning are key pillars of effective programming. Our role in facilitating this mission reflects our commitment to transparency, community engagement, and continuous improvement in all our initiatives.
