The FSC experiences 2020 -2025

FSC inception operations 2020-2021:

  1. On 31 December 2020 to 30 May 2021 FSC started its operations with the areas of environment protection, peace building, civic education and humanitarian emergency response (health, food, NFI, education, water, sanitation and hygiene) supported by its membership’s contribution the achievements as follows:
    • Conducted 9 civic education forums in collaboration of 31 youth CSOs advocacy networking disseminated non-violent culture among 5200 students of secondary schools and universities.
    • Organized 7 capacity building trainings on peaceful coexistence and social cohesion in El Salam and Abo Souk IDP camps targeted 200 youth activists.

FSC Granted Operations 2021-2023:

  1. From 30 May 2021 to 30 July 2023 FSC has received grants from SUDIA, Safer-World, Adeela for Culture and Arts, USAID, NDI, Canada Embassy and Freedom House to cried out the following projects:
  • Civic Education Project on reforming CSOs voluntary and humanitarian law through trainings, advocacy, lobbying and legal campaigns funded by SUDIA organization targeted 25 youth CSOs with 375 members and 100 IDPs leaders in El Fasher locality, North Darfur.
  • Civic Education Project on peace, constitution and election though trainings and awareness sessions funded by SUDIA organization targeted 2000 female and male participants in El Fasher locality, North Darfur.
  • Promotion of peaceful coexistence and social cohesion & empowerment of local constituencies funded by Safer-World organization targeted 18 youth’s peace initiatives through micro grant approach in building mediation and reconciliation among 4 conflicting communities in Kobi area, Kurma AU, El Fasher locality.
  • Establishment of Social Innovation Network; connected 31 innovations institutions with 380 members for peace building through innovations activities funded by Adeela for culture and arts in El Fasher locality, North Darfur.
  • Supporting Social Innovations for Enduring Peace in Darfur; established 10 innovation networks with 167 members funded by USAID targeted 10 localities of El Fasher, Kutum, El Wahha, Kabkabiya, El Seiraf, Saraf Umra, Tawilla, Dar El Salam, Kalaminda and El Kuma in North Darfur.
  • Leadership Development and Local Governance Project targeted 55 youths CSOs funded by NDI in El Fasher locality, North Darfur.

FSC Granted Operations 2024 -2025:

  1. From 1 January 2024 up to present the FSC has received grants from DT Global, DTI, Safer-World and PEJ for the following projects:
  • Quick response to war affected people in North Darfur State include activities of trauma support sessions, peace building consultative meetings, drama shows, IDPs welcome events, innovators trainings and income generation support for women; funded by TD Global 2023-2024 with total 65,282.57 USD.
  • Rebuilding communities through promoting peace and stability in El Fasher &El Fasher rural, North Darfur include activities of radio peace advocacy messages, trauma support awareness, peace-building skills trainings, exchange experience forums, women tea coffee sessions and peace bazars; funded by DTI 2024 with total 47,300 USD.
  • Supporting local constituencies initiatives toward peaceful coexistence and social cohesion in North Darfur, El Fasher locality, El Fasher city which is funded by Safer-World from 25 January 202431 March 2024 due on 20 April 2024 with total cost 21,395 USD conducted workshop defining the project approach, granting 18 initiatives, follow-up, and outcome harvesting, as well as coordination with the relevant authorities and signing a memorandum of understanding with HAC and high council for and culture and media.
  • Promoting peace through trauma healing and psychosocial support in El Fasher, North Darfur funded by Safer-World from February to 30 April 2024 with 15,000 USD conducted two trainings workshop for three days each with 67 participants 36 males 31 females and ten awareness sessions with 7942 beneficiaries which raised their capacities and awareness about psychological support, trauma mitigation and peace promotion in order to improve community security and stability.
  • Operational and Capacity Support to Sudanese Civil Society Organizations in El Fasher, North Darfur funded by Safer-World started from 6th May 2024 – 15th July 2024 funded by Safer-World with 15,000USD which included 5 training workshops (organizational strategy and administrative processes – code of conduct training, developments of administrative, programs and financial operations systems, and enhancing the field humanitarian work, international humanitarian law, international human rights law, computer skills and English language.
  • Darfur Human Rights Defenders Support Project; funded by PEJ 2024 with total 5,000USD started from August end October 2024.
  • Quick lifesaving response to war-affected people in North Darfur State including water tracking, food security, protection, NFIs and health awareness; funded by Safer-World 2024 with total 45,000USD started from August end December 2024.
  • Supporting mentors and mentees for counter-conflict narratives in Uganda and Sudan supported by DT Institute with 54,950USD started from May 2025 up to November 2025.
  • Quick humanitarian response to conflict-affected people in North Darfur State :The project supported by Safer-World for three months, starting on 1st July 2025 and ending 30th of September 2025 with total cost of 50,000USD.
  • Supporting war-affected communities for peace-building in North Darfur: The project supported by Safer-World for 9 months duration, starting from 1st of July 205 and ending 30th of April 2026 with total budget of 77,430.00 USD.

FSC methodology

  1. Research: Access to information and data through communication, field assessments and studies to identify and prioritize gaps/needs and design participatory interventions.
  2. Advocacy: Uses media, technology, meetings, visits and events for smart and strong partnerships/engagement at the local, national and global levels.
  3. Capacity and skills building: Training staff, employees, individuals and groups to lead positively themselves and their communities.
  4. Participatory interventions: Building partnerships, networking, individuals and groups participation, campaigns, micro grants, action learning and outcome harvesting.

FSC projects implementation methodology

Our methodology envisages 5 working directions mentioned below, all with the application of following approaches: do no harm, conflict sensitivity, don’t left any group, gender consideration and covid-19 protocol.

The first direction includes participatory action learning at the beginning of the project implementation, doing separate individual and groups meetings with the targeted beneficiaries to identify needs, bring the possibility of intervention and coordination with key actors and opinion makers.

The second direction is learning by doing through conducting capacity/skills building and awareness raising activities.

The third direction is providing micro start-up grants for the targeted groups through the following process and procedures includes forming screening committee, announcements, clarifications, applications, screening, selection, communication, coordination, signed contracts, guarantee, transferring budget and monitoring and evaluation.

The fourth direction is go and see and come and tell approach through conversation verification, reports and field visits.

The fifth direction is outcome harvesting through conducting learning among each-others meeting with all grantees and community participants to measure the impacts and outcome of the interventions.

Target groups

The FSC targets IDPs, affected people by war and refugees who are accommodate in Sudan especially Darfur States, Belue Nile and Eastran Sudan as well as Uganda and other countries. We carefully selected our target groups for their vulnerability and need for fair opportunities, importance of the role they play in transition and their willingness to challenge status quo and optimism to change things for the better. After participating, the beneficiaries are expected to: improve the ability to adopt new ideas, methodologies and principles in peace mobilization, civic education and trauma awareness; develop propensity to network and build peace community; develop experience and knowledge to design and implement new projects of peace, justice and human dignity; improved networking access and peer to peer exchange.
